Criteria for entering Tournaments

Central Karate Schools Basic criteria for entry.
Must be over 7 years of age to take part in fighting (Kumite)
Must be over 6 years of age to take part in Kata
Must be 10th Kyu and above
Must own a Red and a Blue Belt, these can be ordered from your instructor
Students wanting to take part in Kumite (Fighting) must have a full sparring kit comprising of Boots, Mitts, Shin Pads, and a gum shield.  Students must have both Blue & Red Mitts and boots.
Male Kumite students must have a groin guard, female kumite students should have a chest protector.
A plain white Gi, no badges sewn on except for the traditional Wado or association Badge.
A valid up to date licence, with a picture, details filled in correctly.
A parent has to stay with you for the whole time you are in attendance at the tournament.
Attendance at the squad training sessions held by Central, where you will learn valuable tournament etiquette, rules, and competition techniques.
